Balston Vacuum Pump Exhaust Filters
In many packaging and manufacturing applications, the use of vacuum pump exhaust filters is quickly becoming the standard. With heightened regulations from OSHA and the EPA, it is absolutely necessary to use filtration on the exhaust side of vacuum pump systems. Vacuum pumps without exhaust filters will allow oil, used to lubricate the pump, to vent to atmosphere. In this situation, the oil will deposit and collect in the surrounding area, resulting in quality issues and health related issues. Exhausting the oil mist and smoke to the outdoors will increase the risk of ductwork fires, damage to roofs and to the surrounding environment – both soil and groundwater.

This unique design was introduced to the filtration industry over 20 years ago. Balston DFU’s are available in custom sizes and configurations as well as standard designs. A wide range of filter media is available to configure application specific filtration. We can also design a disposable filter housing that suits your application needs.
Balston disposable filter units (DFU) consist of a microfiber filter cartridge permanently bonded into a sealed plastic holder with 125 psig pressure ratings, temperatures to 275°F, and available in low and high flow models. The economical DFU offers all of the advantages of microfiber filter cartridges for high efficiency liquid and gas filtration, combined with the economics and convenience of complete disposability.

Specifically designed to remove suspended liquids and dirt from pipeline natural gas, the housings are ASME Code Stamped up to 1440 psig. Equipped with Balston Microfibre® Grade DX Disposable Filter Cartridges, the filters are rated at 93% retention of 1 micron liquid droplets and particles.
